How to Overcome Fear

8 Strategies To Take Action NOW (And Stop Procrastination Before It Even Starts!)

How would it feel to take action towards your goals and aspirations on a daily basis? And, even more than that: how would it feel to know that your actions are purposeful and aligned towards your goals and aspirations? That you are taking the necessary actions to progress and move forward? Amazing, right? Well, when we procrastinate, we don't do that. In fact, procrastination is one of the ways, we sabotage ourselves. It is an extremely harmful behaviour: on a short-term basis, disruptive, and on a long-term basis, destructive.
There are millions of blogs and articles about procrastination providing you with keys on how to stop it. I want to take a different angle, and instead of giving you keys to stop procrastination, I want to give you THE key to ensure that you don't even start procrastinating, and 8 strategies you can apply right now to take action towards your goals and aspirations.
Procrastinating is a behaviour, which is triggered; from that trigger, you then step into procrastination. So, what if, there was something you could do, so that you would not even go there? Thus, not having to apply steps to overcome procrastination? It is about focusing on what comes first, and, there is no controversy, as in which came first the chicken or the egg here! Procrastination comes second, so, let's focus on that first behaviour, that way, you apply a series of strategies at that moment, and stop procrastination before it even starts.
THE Key
The key to avoid procrastination is to focus on the why you are not taking action. By focusing on the why immediately, as in, as soon as you recognise the behaviour, you shift your focus onto the root cause, which lets you not only understand it but also, enables you to tackle it head-on by applying the relevant strategies. There are 2 steps to that key, and these work hand in hand: identify the lack of action (it sounds simple and yet, because it is often ignored, it leads to procrastination), and ask yourself: why am I not taking action? (you might have to ask yourself several times). When you have your reason, you can then move forward - can you see how you are then taking control of this, and avoiding procrastination?
The reason gives you the clues you need to take action. There are many reasons why people don't take action, and this will not be an exhaustive list. Yet, I want to highlight 4 of the most common reasons - these are the ones that tend to come up, again and again, when working with clients: confusion; overwhelm; perfectionism; and fear. For each of these, I am sharing 2 of my favourite strategies to help you take action and move forward.
If you are not taking action because you are confused...
Confusion is caused by a lack of clarity. And, I've written about the importance of clarity before; it is even one of the core mindset ABCs. Simply put, it is really hard to act upon something when we are not sure of what that something is. Here are my favourite 2 strategies:
Strategy #1 => Take a pen and paper, and write things down; write everything that you can think of, it is a called a brain dump. You need to get it all out of your head and capture it.
Strategy #2 => Answer a specific  series of questions that will lead you to further clarity; you can either do it on your own, or with the help of a coach, a mentor, a colleague, a supportive friend.
If you are not taking action because you are overwhelmed...
Overwhelm is caused by a huge volume of disorganised information. Interesting fact, it often follows the confusion state. What happens is that you actually know what to do, but because it is so big, it freezes you. Here are my favourite 2 strategies:
Strategy #3 => Take your clarity list, write each of the items on individual notes (ideally, sticky notes), and then sort these around by ordering, planning, picking that FIRST action, and starting.
Strategy #4 => Review your action list, and strike-out the items you can eliminate, the ones that are not aligned with your goals (you'd be surprised!), and the items you can delegate.
If you are not taking action because you are a perfectionist...
Perfectionism can be beneficial, when (and only then) you are able to stop yourself and see when it becomes a roadblock to your dreams. It is important to look inwards and accept that this is something that you do, so that you can take control over it. Here are my favourite 2 strategies:
Strategy #5 => Set a clear and defined milestone to every single thing that you do; these due dates will act as deadlines to all of your activities, plans, projects...
Strategy #6 => Create an added accountability by sharing your plans (and dates!) with someone else: a coach, a mentor, a colleague, a supportive friend, so that they know when your project is due.
If you are not taking action because you are scared...
Fear is often encountered when you are aiming towards reaching new heights, reaching that next level. It is completely natural, and the most important thing you can do when you question your every move is to just keep moving forward. Here are my favourite 2 strategies:
Strategy #7 => Make yourself more uncomfortable than you are scared by listing the consequences of you not taking actions; ask yourself: how does my lack of actions impacts me (and others)?
Strategy #8 => Increase your excitement of what is to come by describing in details (visuals, sounds, feelings) the accomplished goal (this is 1 of the 10 steps of my Goal Reaching process).
Here you go: 1 key and 8 easily applicable strategies. It is now up to you to apply these when you are confused, overwhelmed, star-struck by perfection, or scared. Remember, tackle the why immediately; that way, you do not even have to step into the harmful procrastination loop.
And, one more thing... ! I believe that when we go for our dreams, these feelings are bound to happen. In fact, if they don't, it is a clear sign that you are not playing big, and you are playing safe. I want to go even further, and encourage you to not only accept these feelings, but also embrace these when they come up. Let go of the guilt or shame you may have been feeling in the past, as you now realise that these are great signs that you are making it happen in a big way. So, embrace these feelings, but do not let them control you, control them by applying the relevant strategies, and you will push through, and you will move forward.
Where you are today is the direct reflection of the thoughts, the decisions, and the actions you took days, months and years ago which means that where you will be tomorrow will be a direct reflection of the thoughts, the decisions, and the actions you are about to take. Make it happen!

Get Up and Take Action - Tips on How You Can Become a Doer

Some people are born doers. Others think about doing something but, at the end of the day, never actually get anything done.
So, how can you go from being a "thinker" to being a "doer"?
First, you've got to adopt the right mindset. People who jump up and take action tend to be very well-organized. They have an ability to move from one task to the other without much effort. So, if you always seem to be disorganized, drowning in a sea of papers, or unable to shift gears at a moment's notice, you've got to change your way of thinking. Once you get organized, you'll be one step closer to taking action!
If it seems like "doers" have more energy than you do, you're probably right. Instead of being blessed with more stamina, "doers" have an ability to feed on taking action. It gives them a rush of adrenaline and, thus, an energy boost!
The "thinkers", on the other hand, spend the entire day floundering. Then, when the day ends, nothing's been accomplished - but they feel exhausted! When they try to assess how much progress has been made (or, in their case, HASN'T been made), they get overwhelmed and feel even more exhausted. It's a dangerous cycle!
OK, so how do you get out of the cycle?
- Make a to-do list.
That way, you'll know about everything you need to get done. Even better, prioritize your list so you know where to start. Then, when you cross items off the list, you'll feel the satisfaction and get the adrenaline rush "doers" experience!
- Reward yourself.
When you scratch everything off your to-do list, give yourself a pat on the back. After all, this is a big victory! If you're honest with yourself - and reward yourself for working hard (no cheating!) - you'll look forward to these rewards. They'll give you an adrenaline rush that motivates you to keep aiming for them!
- Tap into the power of visualization.
If you've got a particularly important or challenging task to tackle, close your eyes and visualize yourself doing it. By seeing yourself accomplish it, you'll have the energy you need to go out and really do it!
(The biggest key to visualization is the details. So, when you visualize yourself doing something, focus on every "little thing" there is - from start to finish!)
- Build on your own adrenaline.
Even a small accomplishment will give you an adrenaline rush. So, take that energy and use it to move onto the next task. Think of it like training for a marathon - every mile you run makes you more prepared to take on the big race. If you build on these waves of adrenaline, you'll have the energy you need to go out and take action!
- Focus on solutions.
A big difference between "doers" and "thinkers" is their approach to problems. "Doers" tend to view the world with a "can do" attitude - meaning they believe every problem has a solution. "Thinkers" tend to have a "can't do" attitude -meaning there are some problems that just can't be overcome.
No matter what challenges you're facing, clear your mind and concentrate. It may take awhile, but a solution WILL come to you!
- Seek out other "doers".
Most of the happy people out there are the action-takers. The more time you spend with them, the happier you'll be. Associating with them will help to change your mindset, and eventually, the way you act!

Generating Wealth Through A Positive Money Mindset

Money is viewed in various and opposing ways ranging from extreme wealth being the ultimate goal, to money being the root of all evil. Undoubtedly, the truth lays somewhere in the middle, and certainly, an individual's mindset effects their immediate and future financial situation.
As a nation, we have come far from the system and trading and bartering. Money is a necessity, but is not in and of itself the answer to financial freedom or a lessening of problems. How many times has the millionaire publicly embarrassed himself by filing for bankruptcy, or the popular singer/songwriter struggled with addiction? On the contrary, a small amount of wealth in the hands of a responsible party goes a long way with lasting results. Long-term wealth begins with a positive money mindset.
Secondly, having a positive money mindset means accepting the fact that a lot of good can come from money and the individuals who have it. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation helps millions of sick and poverty ridden people every year. Many popular television personalities participate in relays and raffles to bring money and awareness to a charity, often meeting the amount donated dollar for dollar with their own checkbook. A door of philanthropy opens to a person who gains a positive money mindset.
However, having a positive money mindset is easier said than done. Often parents unknowingly plant counter-active seeds in their children when the matter of money arises. Sayings such as "money doesn't grow on trees" and "money doesn't talk it swears" surrounds the whole field of finance with negativity. These unconstructive assumptions are only fostered by a lack of communication about money in general leaving a child to wonder where money does come from. Sadly, many people may need to start from scratch and retrain their whole view on money in order to have a healthy and positive money mindset.
An easy place for someone to begin is with the money they already have. The more an individual looks on the bright side of their financial situation, the brighter the situation looks. Unfortunately, most Americans are living without a budget, which leaves them feeling frequently stressed and uneasy. If a person wishes to acquire any small amount of wealth, they must become responsible for the current money they manage, and they must feel confident with their budget and skills.
Only with a positive money mindset will someone be able to move out of a negative past, and into a stable and enjoyable future.

ALWAYS Grateful NEVER Satisfied - Motivational Video

Gratitude and Why You Need to Practice It

You've probably heard a lot about gratitude, or perhaps you've heard the popular phrase, "Have an attitude of gratitude." Gratitude is an important characteristic to develop. However, it's important to realize that gratitude is far more than just expressing gratefulness aloud - it involves living a life of gratitude. As President John F. Kennedy said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
What is Gratitude?
Before looking at why you should practice gratitude and how you can add gratitude to your life, it's important to understand this characteristic. What is gratitude? Webster's Online Dictionary defines thankfulness as "A feeling of thankfulness and appreciation." It is also described as a state of feeling or being grateful. Instead of focusing on wants and needs, gratitude is a positive emotion that focuses on expressing appreciation.
Reasons it's Important to Practice Gratitude
Why do you need to practice gratitude? Have you ever met a person who was negative about everything? After being around that person, you may have felt that their negativity was sucking your energy away. By having gratitude as a core value, you can avoid being that person. Here are just a few more reasons it's important to be grateful.
- Gratitude helps put your life in perspective. You start seeing the glass as half full. It makes you realize how much you really have.
- An attitude of gratitude helps push you out of tough moments. Challenges will occur in relationships and in your business life, but when you use gratitude to look at those challenges, it will help you move beyond that challenge.
- Gratitude also helps you learn to appreciate the little things. You'll retain that child like sense of wonder as you look at your blessings.
- Of course, gratitude will help you appreciate all the big things in life too.
What Research Says About Gratitude
You may be surprised to find that many researchers have studied gratitude. In fact, research shows that practicing gratitude offers many benefits. Here are just a few of the things researchers have discovered about practicing gratitude.
- People who regularly discuss gratitude enjoy greater levels of energy, better sleep, improved alertness and greater determination.
- When people keep regular gratitude journals, they exercise more often, they feel optimistic about their life and have fewer negative physical symptoms.
- Some new research shows that practicing gratitude daily may help to prevent coronary artery disease.
- Grateful people enjoy lower stress levels and a decreased risk of depression.
- Individuals who regularly practice gratitude report that they are better able to offer emotional support to other individuals.
Ways to Practice Gratitude
Now that you're more aware of why it's so important to practice gratitude, you may be wondering how you can begin practicing gratitude in your life. Here are some simple ways you can start being grateful today.
Way #1 - Keep a Gratitude Journal - One of the best ways to practice gratitude is to keep a gratitude journal. Research shows that this is one of the best ways to become grateful. Get a journal, or even a notebook, and start writing down things you're thankful for each day or one day a week.
Way #2 - Post Photos, Words, and Items of Gratitude Around Home and at Work - Remind yourself to be grateful by posting photos, words and items of gratitude around your home and at work. Quotes that inspire you to feel gratitude or photos that make you feel grateful will help you focus on gratitude.
Way #3 - Start Saying "Thank You!" - Simply saying "thank you" to people more often will help you practice gratitude.
Way #4 - Let Friends and Family Members Know You're Thankful for Them - Take time to let your friends and family members know that you are thankful for them. Practice gratitude by writing a thank you note, a special letter or send a text to let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life.
Way #5 - Practicing Gratitude as a Family at Dinner - When you sit down to a family dinner, go around the table and have each person say something they are grateful for before you eat.

Better Time Management Using the Peapod Principle

Here are five ways to more effective time management.
· Determine your goals and priorities
Knowing what you want is the first step to accomplishing more. First decide what goals you want to pursue, be it short term or long term goals. Then rank them in order of priorities and start to manage your activities around them. Planning and prioritizing may be a small step you have to take every time but the benefits of this small step is significant in helping you to accomplish more.
Once your priorities are set, it helps you to mange your daily decisions better. You will end up saving more time doing the things that will bring you towards your goals instead of spending time thinking and deliberating.
· Time management is about getting results
Time management is about getting results. Most people confuse activity for results. For instance if you are making 200 calls but not getting any sales, then you are involved in activity. For getting sales is what you get paid to do and the better approach may be to tweak your sales call approach to get better results.
Thoroughly planning and having a set of things to do each day in your key areas of life and tracking the results you have achieved will give you a better indication of how well you are managing your time for results.
· Tracking your daily activities
Granted, what gets measured improves. 80% of the tasks contribute to 20% of the results and vice versa. In order to find out where your time has gone, you need to track how you are spending time now. Try to track every activity you have two weeks and you will begin to see where you are wasting time on activities that do not bring you closer to your goals. You may for instance be spending the first hour or two in the office checking your emails and end up surfing the Internet for the next hour, spending 3 hours on a task that would normally take a fraction of the time. So if you do not track your time, you are never going to be able to tell.
· Learn to say "No".
This is tough for some people. Some people find it difficult to refuse the request of others, thinking they will not be well liked if they refuse to do certain things when asked. Well learning to say "No" can help you accomplish more and feel less stressed. You will be in a better position to help others once you have completed your tasks. Instead of spending time helping others at your own expense, you may end up doing a shoddy job when you are hard pressed for time. So learn to say "No" to accomplish more.
· Get started immediately
Stop procrastinating and get started on tasks immediately and will be able to accomplish more. By attending to the necessary tasks early you can also eliminate last minute deadline stress.
The minute you decide to integrate better time management skills into your life, you have already opened up options for better life management. Once you begin to manage your time better, you have more time to plan personal development activities that will contribute towards your growth.

Time Management - Understanding Time And What You Should Be Doing With It

Many time management courses and literature tends to miss the important point what it comes to time management: time management is neither a technique nor a system. Like time itself, time management is a biological, psychological, conceptual and sociocultural process. Western culture has created a time-system that most are born into and are compelled to follow. If there is a single point to making time work for you is it this: in western society people have mostly forgotten the art and importance of listening to their inner voice. Our reliance on material clocks, watches, broadcast time checks, factory sirens, alarms etc. is starkly contrasted with the inner sense of time that today still serves aboriginal peoples perfectly well.
We all have this 'inner voice' but of course is not given a chance to be heard in our twentieth century style of living. But given half the chance, it can still empower us with the confidence needed to take the best courses of action and escape the impose 'life script' we place upon ourselves.
So how you manage your time should only ever be what is right for you and will help you to relate to the world in which you choose to operate, not necessarily one imposed or contrived to fit the idealism of a training course on time management. Whichever way you see it you must understand, you rule your own diary and do things - things that you can do - when you feel like it.
Most conscientious and concerned working people do not deliberately delegate or communicate poorly, operate in a disorganized way, procrastinate or daydream. Mostly they are as productive as they personally wish to be, or can be within their society and it's systems or within their own biological and psychological limitations. These are the people that aim to get the most out of their lives and are working towards a future or state of mind that they will be happy in. Are you one of them?

The Winning Mindset Is The Secret To Success

There comes a time in your business career that you make a decision to either go along or become a leader and that the bull by the horns and be really successful, in order to make that shift you have to change your thinking and develop a winning mindset and you cannot do without it let me explain why.
For a select few this decision is never made, they for whatever reason have been blessed with the winning mindset that drives them constantly, but for most of us mere mortals, we have to work at it with some sort of mindset training, be it reading, listening to audio tapes or going to lectures etc.
Why is a winning mindset so important?
Lets face it, there are times when things are not going as planned or life just throws you a curve and you get a little down on whatever it is you are doing, in fact many times, the people you are closest to and love the most, perceive that what you are doing is a waste of time and effort. They are not being negative because they are mean, they really feel they have your best interest in mind. It is in those dark days that you really have to dig deep within and pull out a powerful millionaire mindset.
How do you build your mindset?
First off, you have to be willing to make some serious changes in your thinking, Period! It is important to understand that nothing of any nature gets done unless you choose it to happen. The troubling thing is this is true as far as doing thing that affect you negatively as well as positively. What most people never come to grips with is that it actually takes more effort to fail than it does to succeed.
Imagine you go to work for 40 hour a week for 40 years and end up retiring, living on only 40% of you final income. Now look at it from a different perspective, you can work 40 hours a week, for 10 years and retire knowing that if you ever needed to generate more income you could do it in a matter of a year or less.
Once you change your mindset from job/employee to a personal wealth mindset, there is nothing you can hold you back from living your wildest dreams. A whole new world of opportunity will open up to you from seemingly unimaginable places. People will feel a sense of empowerment from you through your persona.
Go out, develop a more positive mindset and the you can be anyone you want to be, experience any dream you can dream and live any life you want to live. Just change you mindset to that of absolute abundance and abundance will find you. If you are having problems changing your mindset, sometime finding a mentor will help because they have probably gone through your same experience.

The Millionaire Mindset You Need in Order To Become One

A millionaire mindset does not just happen for most. Becoming a millionaire isn't about snapping your fingers and poof, you have it. Bank accounts don't just fill because we want them to. There are several traits and steps that must be taken. Here are a few of the traits you need in order to live your dream with money in your pocket.
A Vision
Having a Millionaire mindset starts with vision. A millionaire has a creative vision with a positive attitude. This means that not only do millionaires have big dreams but they truly believe that their dreams will come true and they will do anything they need to in order to see that dream come true. You are what your thoughts are. Setting a large goal for yourself and seeing it through to fruition is a huge start towards dollars in the pocket.
Thinking Differently
Millionaires don't just think differently about money, but they think differently about everything. While most are spending time on menial, non productive tasks, a person with a millionaire mindset is spending brain power on ways to create their own path. Independent thinking doesn't necessarily mean doing the opposite of everyone else; it means finding the courage to follow your dreams even if they don't always conform to everyone else's thinking. Millionaires find ways for money to work for them; they don't chase money. For example if your dreams are to become a world renowned author, then focus you thinking on ways to do that.
Having Skills
Millionaires never quit learning new skills. They read, they learn and constantly go with the times. Instead of hanging around with people who have the same skill level as they do, they normally will hang around and choose colleagues who offer a supplement to their weaker skills. So to learn new skills you can use training or mentors to strengthen your skills. Those with a millionaire mindset will normally choose a mentor that is in a position that they strive to be in. For example, if someone is striving to be a millionaire, they don't hang out or use mentors that aren't making a million dollars already. They don't hang out with people with a job mentality.
Have Passion
The millionaire mindset also has a lot to do with passion. To millionaires money is just a by-product of something that they like to do very much. You have to have a true passion about what you are doing in order to incorporate it into every part of your life. The statistic of finding your true passion isn't until approximately age 45 and achieving the million dollars or more usually isn't statistically until age 54. If you want to be a millionaire, start doing things that really makes your heart sing and stop doing things that you do not love. If you are not sure what that is, start trying new things until you find the right fit for you!
Being a Salesmen
Those with a millionaire mindset also know that salesmanship is one of the best skills they can learn. Millionaires constantly are presenting their ideas and persuading other people to buy into their visions. That is all sales is; persuasion and getting people to buy in. A good sales person has a diamond tough skin that is oblivious to naysayers and critical people. Millionaires also have great interpersonal skills and can socialize well. It starts with being able to sell yourself so polish and practice this skill every single day on someone, anyone. It not only helps you get better at the skill of sales, but also helps you build a larger, more loyal network of people.
Smart Investing and Living Within Your Means
When you are a millionaire, spending a few hundred bucks on a shopping trip seems like no big deal and it isn't. But while you are trying to get there, you need to mind your dollars and cents. Someone with a millionaire mindset will make sure they are spending smart and spending on the right things. The right things to invest in are yourself, your education you need for your idea, and it never hurts to budget. The Mindset of a Billionaire - Learn How To Think Correctly

The Millionaire Mindset: How Self Made Millionaires Think

Do you dream of becoming rich someday, but are not sure how to go about it?
There is a myth that rich people are born with an innate talent to strive for excellence and think creatively, but it is all nonsense! Being a millionaire is not about having more than one million in your bank account. It is about the mindset which creates wealth for you. Similarly, it is the mindset (the wrong one) that prevents you from being a wealthy person. Think about it.. why is it when some people win a huge amount of money in a lottery, they go back to square one and become broke yet again within a couple of years? It is because they never learned the mindset of a millionaire. So, how much money you have right now does not determine you future financial status. Your future depends on your thinking; it's all about changing your psychological approach towards money, success and happiness.
When you think of the word 'millionaire' what image flashes in your mind? For many, it is a flashy type of a guy who lives an ultra-luxurious lifestyle, travels in a private jet, and so on. Surprisingly, typical millionaires are not the image that Hollywood and the media in general has created. Many modern-age millionaires work full-time, live in middle-class homes and shop in discount stores like common people. They are not driven by the material possessions that money can buy. What drives them is the power to make choices; it is about the 'freedom' to make any decision! For instance, being able to quit a job they dislike or sending their kid to a school of their choice.
The number of millionaires has almost doubled in the last decade! There are more and more people getting rich. Millionaires are turning into billionaires! Perhaps, a lot of people are living the good life, so why can't you? Anyone can become a millionaire, but it asks for The Millionaire Mindset: How self-made millionaires think, can help you get there too! Millionaires have more in common with each other than just their bank accounts, it is their mindset. Although, becoming a self-made millionaire is NOT easy, adapting their way of thinking can put you on the right track. Here's how-
1. Whatever You Think About, You Bring About
The beauty of being human is that you can reason and you can choose your thoughts. Thoughts become your actions and actions lead you to your reality. So if you're poor, that's YOUR choice. Maybe you think it's not possible to be a millionaire because you don't have the skillsets, capital, education etc. But most self-made millionaires didn't have any of these, either. Self-made millionaires want to have lots of money and earn it while doing what they enjoy doing the most! They think of multiple ways by which they can attract money.
2. The Universe Doesn't Give You Money
Don't make the mistake of expecting the universe to bestow riches upon you, if that would have been the case you would have been born rich! If you are not rich, it only means that wealth is something that you need to CREATE with creativity and hard work. The first step is of course, the mindset which breeds wealth. Self-made millionaires know that they MUST work harder than everyone else. They don't wait for luck. They make a strong plan on how they will make things happen and execute it. They take a huge 'calculated' risk (could be anything) and hence, reap rewards.
3. Chase Anything But The Money
The idea of being a self-made millionaire sounds great, but most millionaires believe that chasing money will take you nowhere. They all have chased 'something' in their lives and the money came along as a reward. What is it that you would do if you were already a millionaire right now? What are your talents? And are you skilled/educated enough to do your work excellently? Understand that money will always come as a fruit of your hard work. You must be productive and give results. For instance, walking in the hot sun is a LOT of hard work but won't make you a millionaire.
4. Stop Spending, Start Investing
If your goal is to make a million dollars and buy an expensive car, you won't be a millionaire for very long. Millionaires know the importance of investing instead of spending. They earn to save (and that's their habit) and not just to spend. They earn to keep and not blow their hard-earned money away by buying expensive items. They know the fact that money, if saved today, may serve a bigger purpose tomorrow. Moreover, self-made millionaires reinvest the money they make. And they further use it to create new opportunities to be more successful.
5. Strive for Success on a Daily Basis
Earning abundantly means you have loads of knowledge about your work, plus, a strong passion to learn new things and improve your skills. These traits are not something you practice once in a blue moon, they are meant to be a part of your daily routine. Self-made millionaires are passionate about learning and reaching new heights. Just like a child gets excited to learn something new in his/her favorite subject, YOU need to have that passion to excel no matter what gets in your way - emotional traumas, financial setbacks, or whatever.
6. Live Well Beneath Your Means
This is something that you must have read a hundred times, but this is THE golden rule. But why is it so? When you work hard enough to buy that Ferrari, you DESERVE it right? Well, that's for you to decide, but millionaires don't function that way. The reason behind this golden rule is - Gradually, a person starts spending more money than he/she earns. Thus, the real self-made millionaires don't spend more than they earn. As simple as that. As a matter of fact, as parents, they don't pay for everything. They give their kids a monthly allowance and that's it. Hence, they cultivate the 'smart spending' and 'saving' habit in themselves, as well as in their children.
As you can see from the list above, just wanting to be a millionaire is not enough. Self-made millionaires have a different mindset and most live a special lifestyle way before making all that money. By doing some of the things listed above, you too can put yourself on the right path to achieve more!

Yoga - An Exercise For the Mind

Many people think yoga is merely a practice of placing the body in uncomfortable, contorted positions for the purpose of creating flexibility in the body. Although it is indeed a form of physical exercise, this ancient practice is more an exercise for the mind. Here are some ways that it can benefit your mind and emotions.
  • It helps clear the mind. If are worried, have a problem to solve, or have negative thoughts it will help you get clear and release those emotions.
  • It creates self-confidence. As you progress in a regular practice you will notice improvement in your posture and your self-image. You will be able to do poses that you never thought you could do before. This feeling of confidence will carry over in your everyday life.
  • It enhances body awareness. A good instructor will tell you to listen to your body while you practice yoga. Good body awareness allows you to be coordinated and to know when you are doing something that will harm your body. Likewise you will know what is good for your body and your health. For example, you may be inspired to start eating healthier.
  • It makes you focused. If you feel distracted easily you will find that it helps to train the mind to stay present.
  • It makes you calm. You will learn how to breathe fully which helps to relax the mind and body. The calmness and patience needed to perform a balance pose will give you the skills to handle a stressful situation.
  • It helps you forget the past. Bad relationships, childhood traumas and embarrassing mistakes are all in the past. Yoga trains the mind to live in the present and let go of anything else that does not serve you.
  • It increases intuitive abilities. As the mind becomes more clear, focused and calm you are able to make better decisions and choices in life. Your mind will become an open channel to receive new, creative ideas.
  • You will learn to love yourself. As a method of nurturing the body, mind and spirit, the more you do yoga the more you will see improvements in your mind and body, the more you will see your confidence grow, and the more you will love yourself.

9 Steps On How to Focus Better

Dictionary.com defines the word "focus" as:
"a central point, as of attraction, attention, or activity."
It also gives other definitions in relation to physics, optics, geometry, and geology. The interesting thing about each definition is that they are centered around a few key words:
~Point
~Center
~Position
~Heart
~Core
These words show that the word indicates a defined area. And not just any area: ONE area. My favorite definition is when it is used in verb form, and it means "to concentrate."
Because it pretty much sums up the overall meaning of the word.
I believe that in order to truly understand what it means to focus on something, you have to understand what the word itself means. And, in my personal opinion, I feel that the lack of understanding its definition is why so many people fail at their ability to focus.
They go through their lives with a million thoughts in their head, doing a lot of activity but not really accomplishing anything. Then they wonder why they seem to not be able to get ahead in their life and career.
When you really want something, no matter what it is, it will be difficult for you to manifest it into your life when you're not putting the majority of your attention upon that which you want. You're giving your attention to this project, that deadline, these two businesses, the five latest affiliate marketing launches, etc. Each of these things are receiving pieces of your energy because you are thinking about all of them at the same time.
But sooner or later you're going to receive a brain overload and it's going to negatively affect your physical health by way of stress.
This was me recently. As you may know, I have a burning desire to become full invest in one of my businesses, and I've been thinking of ways to manifest the money needed to do so. All of a sudden I found myself opting in to ALL of these mailing lists for different opportunities, reviewing various products, launches, and commission plans trying to find multiple ways to bring in enough money.
This only added frustration and confusion upon me, and I found myself almost getting mentally burned out by the various offers.
I had to get a grip on myself because I've done this before, and promised myself that I wouldn't go down the same road again. So I stopped, used EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to clear my mind and body of the resistance, and centered my attention back on my primary business, as well as towards what I REALLY love to do: Music.
Once I did that, that's when I had more clarity. That's when ideas and opportunities related to my real chief aim began showing up in my awareness, by Law of Attraction. That's when I stopped trying to figure it out and just put it in God's hands, trusting that the Universe will provide the resources at the right moment in time that will put me in a financial position to get all in.
When you take time to stop and look at the million things on which you're focusing, I can guarantee you that the majority of those things are energy drainers that don't make you feel good. If you want fast results, you need to have that ONE thing that serves as your chief aim.
And the chief aim is something you want that gives you the best feeling.
Something that gets you excited when you think about it.
Something you know, without any doubt, you will get or achieve.
You are obsessed with achieving it. You are willing to risk everything to accomplish it.
And the more focus you place upon it, the faster it will come.
That's how my mother became a Registered Nurse. Despite having three kids at the time (including me), despite having to quit school after I was born, despite it taking her ten years to make it happen, she didn't lose focus.
Her tunnel vision was at one hundred percent, and she didn't let ANY outside influences stop her from achieving her desire.
She did what she had to do and made the necessary sacrifices to make it happen. She was OBSESSED with becoming a nurse. It's what she loved to do.
And over twenty years later, she's still doing what she loves to do as an RN.
So what's your chief aim? What's your obsession? What's your true goal? Here are 9 steps to help you find it and put all of your attention on how to focus better upon it:
1. Ask yourself, "What do I love to do?"
2. Find an opportunity that is centered around what you love to do. And you'll know it's the right opportunity based on how great it makes you feel.
3. Cut out all physical distractions (radio, TV, useless Internet browsing, anything that distracts you).
4. Study and educate yourself on your chief aim.
5. Go forward and DO IT NOW! Don't waste time trying to figure it out. Just know that, as long as you decide to do it, the "how" will present itself at the right time.
6. Do the "right things" long enough consistently. Don't just do it for a week, then stop and think the results are going to just appear from out of thin air. It doesn't work that way. As the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 9:11, "The race is not to the swift."
7. Keep score. Keep a record of your progress.
8. Celebrate when you reach specific milestones related to your chief aim.
9. Choose to feel good throughout the entire process. Enjoy the journey. Success is a journey, not a destination.
So what are you waiting for? GET FOCUSED, MAN!

Mindset - How to Breakthrough Mindset Limitations

The My Mindset Matters definition for MINDSET is a chosen attitude or intention that determines a person's responses to and interpretations of situations. In previous articles I have shared how to choose your mindset and examples of when I and others have made intentional mindset choices. I share these to help you easily explore new ideas and new possibilities. I share these to help you set aside any limiting beliefs from yourself or others so you can freely explore new ways of living and dealing with life. My want for you is that you will freely imagine how your can live beyond your present limits.
Many times we set limits on ourselves without even realizing what we have done. We then carry those limitations around with us for years, some even a lifetime. When you were a child you formed a great deal of your beliefs about the world, others and yourself. Think about it, what do you believe about your looks, your athletic ability, money...name the area of your life and you have a belief about it. And you have gathered a lifetime of evidence to "prove" your beliefs true.
Taking on an innovative mindset does not make you the Thomas Edison of today, I simply allows you to look at your world as though you were an innovator. You have a new perspective, a new filter to experience life through, a new way of doing things that will render you a different result. Taking on a new mindset is experimental. In spite of this you may find yourself stuck, unable to act as if you are your chosen mindset. If you are having trouble taking on your chosen mindset here are few questions to ask yourself:
"What is stopping me?" There may be something real or perceived stopping you from living your chosen mindset. Take an honest look at the beliefs that are stopping you.
"Who else lives this mindset?" Finding a role model can be extremely beneficial. You can model their behavior and ask them about their beliefs around this specific mindset. You may be surprised to learn many who act with such confidence have merely found ways to get all their nervous butterflies to fly in formation.
"Could there by anyone who could live this mindset?" Answer that question before reading the next line. This question is to test your belief about if this mindset is possible or not. I think most mindsets can be lived within the proper context, if you think this mindset is impossible check the context you view it in, maybe your context is impossible and a slight tweak would bring it into the realm of possibility.
"What would happen if I did have this mindset?" Are there any concerns about your safety while you have this mindset? Explore that, if you are putting yourself in harms way, reconsider the context of your mindset.
"Have I ever lived this mindset in the past?" Pull from your past. Do you associate this mindset with any negative results from your past? Put aside any judgment and explore your history.
"Is there a part of me that would have a problem living this mindset?" Follow your feelings they will lead you to any internal conflict with this mindset.
"What else would I bring into my life if I lived this mindset?" Exploring all the positives this mindset could bring into your life will provide you with additional positive motivational leverage.
"If my wife/husband/brother/sister/best friend were here, what might s/he say I am not seeing about living this mindset?" Choosing another perspective will open you to more options and solutions.
"How would it feel if I could find a way to live this mindset?" Break out your crystal ball and start seeing the future. Partner this question with "And how might I find a way to live this mindset?"
And finally, "And if I could find a way to live this mindset anyway, what might I have to do first?" This is where you uncover the first step to living the mindset of your choice. This is where you train your butterflies to fly in formation.
When you take the time to honestly explore these questions you will uncover your limiting beliefs, you may even show some of your self sabotaging behaviors, but you will take a giant step towards claiming this mindset because now you are aware of what has been holding you back, what could happen if you make this change and how to start the change process. With this new awareness you are already living the mindset you have chosen.
